Kick off InnoEcoTur

The activities of the project InnoEcoTur, began formally through a kickoff meeting on October 22, led by Professor Dr. Marival Segarra Oña, which was attended in a hybrid mode by most of the Polytechnic University of Valencia research team, various collaborators and cathedratics, as well as representatives of the Valencian public universities; University of Valencia, University of Alicante and the Jaume I University.

At this meeting, which was held for approximately one hour, the team and collaborators were presented with the project entitled “Creation of an Innovation Platform for the Promotion and Implementation of a Circular Economy Strategy in the Tourism Sector of the Valencian Community (InnoEcoTur) ”, its main tasks and estimated deadlines, to start the activities that will lead to the fulfillment of the objectives set out in the project.

InnoEcoTur primarily pursues the articulation of a network of agents to promote the circular economy (CE) in the Tourism Sector of the Valencian Community, with a multidisciplinary approach for the implementation of models, methodologies, technologies and practices based on CE. To achieve this, it will seek to agree on the measurement of impacts that are generated from the adoption of eco-innovations and EC actions, through sectorial indicators definition, along with methodologies and tools that allow companies in the Tourism Sector to assess what innovations can generate the most benefit in terms of environmental footprint, and implement them to advance in a more sustainable development in the Valencian Community, being one of the expected otputs of the project, the proposal of the implementation of a "Circular Economy Strategy in the Tourism Sector of the Valencian Community", aiming to be applied as a guide by the different agents of the sector.
